Module 1: Introduction. Upon completion of this module, students will be able to describe the purpose of the course and the course structure.

Module 2: Basic Concepts and Scope of Prosecution. Module two will explain prosecution in relation to serious crimes under international law (genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and aggression). This module will provide students with key definitions and practices of prosecution.

Module 3: Mechanisms for Prosecution. Module three will discuss the different courts that have jurisdiction to try serious crimes, including national, international and hybrid mechanisms.

Module 4: Modes of Liability. Module four will discuss liability for serious crimes, including the concepts of individual and command responsibility.

Module 5: Universal Jurisdiction. Module five will highlight the importance and precedence of universal jurisdiction as an approach for seeking justice.

Module 6: International Criminal Court. Module six will discusses the establishment and function of the ICC.

Module 7: Final Reflection. This final module will provide space for personal reflection on this course focussed on the right to justice.
